Bringing Back Wholesome Literature with Chad Stewart



Today on The Two Mikes we spoke again with Chad Stewart who is the author of the Britfield

Novels for young people. Three have been published, with four more to come. There also will be seven movies, each of which will cover the story told in a specific volume. The first script is on the brink of completion. Mr. Stewart aims for a wide readership among middle-schoolers, and to date his novels have been received a great reception from those youngsters, as well as from their teachers and parents in the United States. The novels focus on two young best friends, Tom and Sarah, both orphans. Both are twelve-years old in the first book, and, of course, they will gain one year of age in each subsequent book in the series. The novels follow Tom and Sarah after their escape from an oppressive orphanage and demonstrate how they learn the skills of self-reliance in threatening situations, as well as to learn the power and comfort to be found in friendship, family, loyalty, and courage. Mr. Steward said that he and his associates are in the midst of beginning an international push to attract more and more middle schoolers globally. The books are soon to be published in Britain and Poland, the latter will serve as a starting-point to expand readership in the other countries of Eastern Europe. Mr. Stewart said that the goal of the books and movies is to reinstall traditional family volumes and

leave little room in the book market of middle-school readers for those authors, publishers, and movie-makers who are now pushing stories of violence, perverse sexuality, anti-family themes, and other filth into books and movies meant to attract middle-schoolers. Mr. Stewart said that the Britfield series of novels are and will remain “fresh, clean, and realistic”, and given the large U.S. sales of the books and the proliferating interest among U.S. school systems and libraries for the novels, he seems to be providing a literary and moral service that has been much desired by middle-schoolers, their parents, and their teachers.
